Our sail loft is located in Universal marina on the Hamble river. We are very proud of this impressive facility and our doors are open for new sails and servicing enquiries.
Doyle Sails UK is headed up by Tom and Philippa Milne, who are the new owner operators of this world class loft facility. Tom added his thoughts, “Our UK loft is a new purpose-built facility located in Universal Marina on the Hamble River.
The raised floor is about the size of four tennis courts which provides the capacity for work on larger sails or taking on
time-dependent projects without interfering with our planned production and sail servicing. Our team will work very closely with the partner loft in New Zealand, suppliers of award winning Stratis sail membranes.”
Operations manager Rob Larke, is well-known in the sailing industry from dinghies to superyachts. Rob is a highly regarded sail maker and sailor in the Solent with 25 years in the industry ranging from design and sail development to hands on finishing and sail making. The other members of the team have also won numerous titles, including National, European and World championships, from Supermaxi yachts to high performance dinghies.
The UK racing and cruising market is significant, with over 35,000 boats based in the Solent aside from the great numbers in other key areas on the East and West coasts and across Scotland. Doyle offers a range of products to suit the variety of needs – whether racing or cruising, large or small.
Doyle Sails produces sails for many of the highest profile yachts around the world. Racing yachts, the likes of Alex Thomson’s Hugo Boss, Bella Mente, Leopard and Shockwave all use sails and membranes manufactured in the Doyle Auckland facility together with many
of the most technologically advanced superyachts, such as Kokomo, M5, Perseus^3 and the Maltese Falcon, which were all projects to break boundaries in engineering and problem solving.
Our loft doors are always open so come and visit to view the facilities and talk to us about your requirements.
